De internationaal bekende Amerikaanse mozaïekkunstenares LAURA RENDLEN komt naar Nederland voor de 5-daagse mozaïekworkshop:

"Building a Landscape With Color and Texture."
"Een landschap bouwen met kleur en textuur."

Laura staat bekend om haar magische landschappen en innovatieve interpretaties van de natuur.
Deze workshop is speciaal voor kunstenaars die mozaïektechnieken willen verkennen om een realistisch landschap te creëren. We werken met traditionele materialen zoals glas, steen, schelpen, kralen, metaal…etc.

De workshop begint met een korte presentatie en enkele oefeningen om de basisprincipes te illustreren. Daarna duiken we dieper in belangrijke onderwerpen zoals perspectief, de verhouding tussen voor- en achtergrond en het gebruik van licht, hooglichten en schaduwen.
Zo leer je hoe je een levendig en overtuigend landschap kunt samenstellen!

In deze workshop gebruik je je fantasie om een uniek, gelaagd mozaïek te creëren.
De focus ligt op hands-on experimenteren met mozaïektechnieken. Je ontdekt hoe je texturen kunt combineren, kleuren harmonisch laat overlopen en materialen op creatieve wijze samenbrengt.

Gedurende de workshop krijg je uiteraard persoonlijke begeleiding en praktische tips van Laura om zowel de technische uitdagingen als de afronding van je project succesvol aan te pakken.
De workshop wordt gegeven in het Engels, maar als dat lastig voor je is, kan ik voor je vertalen.
Heb je zelf al foto’s van landschappen of tuinen die je aanspreken, neem deze dan geprint (op gewoon A4 formaat) mee ter inspiratie. Ook zou je eventuele memorabilia kunnen meenemen om te verwerken in je mozaïek waardoor het nog persoonlijker wordt.

Registratie:
Om zeker te zijn van je plaats in de workshop, dien je een aanbetaling te doen van € 150,00.
Het restant dient te zijn overgemaakt vóór 15 juni 2025. Mochten er niet voldoende deelnemers zijn, dan krijg je de aanbetaling teruggestort.
Als je hebt aanbetaald en je wilt annuleren, dan kan dat tot 1 juni 2025. Je krijgt de aanbetaling dan teruggestort. Als je annuleert na 1 juni 2025 dan krijg je deze alleen teruggestort als je plaats kan worden ingevuld door iemand anders.

The world-known American mosaic artist and good friend LAURA RENDLEN is coming to the Netherlands for the mosaic workshop:

"Building a Landscape With Color and Texture."

This workshop is for artists who want to explore various mosaic techniques to create a representational landscape utilizing different traditional materials, e.g. glass, stone, shells, beads, metal… etc.

Beginning with a short presentation and some exercises to illustrate general principles, the discussion considers perspective foreground and background and light source highlights and shadows.

Using your imagination you will create a finished bas-relief mosaic. The beauty of this workshop is that the artist gets to surround themselves and then play with various tesserae to complete their mosaic. 

The workshop emphasizes hands-on exploration of mosaic techniques. This allows the artist to discover different textures, color combinations, and ways to transition and form relationships with mixed materials.  

Throughout the workshop, individual attention and tips are provided by Laura to help with the technical aspects of mosaics and to guide the successful completion of each project.

If you already have photos of landscapes or gardens that appeal to you, bring them printed (on regular A4 format) for inspiration. You could also bring any memorabilia to incorporate into your mosaic, making it even more personal.

Workshop fee: 770 Euro. All materials, coffee, tea, softdrinks, cookies en 5 lunches are included. Please bring your own wheeled nippers and tweezers.

Registration: To guarantee your place in the class you need to make a deposit of € 150 by Paypal or a banktransfer. You will get the details after registration. The balance (€ 620) has to be paid before June 15.

If there are not enough participants, you will receive your deposit back.

If you have paid a deposit and you want to cancel, you can do so until June 1, 2025. You will then receive your deposit back. If you cancel after June 1, 2025, you will only receive your deposit back if your place can be filled by someone else.

Min participants will be 6 and max 10.
